Does a physical shipment arrive with a printed manual. or am I only paying for a box and a CD..?

Box and CD only. The manual is in electrons. You will need to print the manual yourself.

Thought it might be. A fiver to cover the cost of a printed manuall and p&p would be too good. well, guess I will save the fiver and order the download then. Anyone know of anywhere in the UK to get pdf documents printed and bound cheaply..?

I would recommend that you don't print it. I found that a quick read and then extensive use of the search function along with printing a few selected charts and tables (the one's I search for the most) to be far more effective as well as cheaper.

Agreed. The search function in Adobe Acrobat is much more effective, not to mention faster, than you'll ever be leafing through 220 pages.
