the Battle for Austria

Post by Hard Sarge »

I got offered to protect Poland, in fall of 1794, a nice windfall of some 250,000 troops, which came just when Russia decided to DOW me, that didn't last long

in the fall of 94, Bavaria, asked me to protect them also, another 120,000 troops added to my Glory seeking Armees

a little shifting of forces, and 2 Polish Armies and the Army of Moldar, strike in the north, my Orcish Army, heads into Thungria/Hesse, while my Army of Bavaria heads into Venteno

the Grand Army is in Paris, trying to get all of its parts in place, but ends up heading East, when a small Austrian Army crosses the border

after beating and chaseing the small army out of France, the Grand Army is ready for action, and heads into Aus

the Army of Bavaria wins a major battle in Venteno and take the Province, along with most of the Army it fought

Pressburg falls, as does another Ausrian city, then Thungria falls, a mid size battle is fought in Austria, to blood my Grand Armee, when the Austrians, decide to go for broke, and take out my Main Army with all of there forces (that are not tried up with my other armies)

this is the battle that may decide the war, if I win, Austria will be crushed, if they win, my morale will be shattered

got a river line to defend behind, the Austrians have a ton of Cav, Cav can be a royal pain

at least my Supply is close and in cover, not sure if I can get my line fully deployed, in time, anything that can't be suppported, tries to form square, I think I got enough foot troops, that I do not need to split any of them, but, time will tell

that may not of looked like much, but 10,000 men have already died, that broken up Cav unit ?, it just broke though my Inf in Line, and did over 4000 losses to it (it breaks and runs when the turn ends

(that was a top of the line unit, high morale, and in good order, it failed it's anti charge morale check, and paid they price)

Opps, I know what is wrong with this report, this is not the Grand Armee !, it is one of the Polish armies and the Army of Bravira !!!!

would of been a whole lot easier with the GA in place :)

ahhh

I always was good at keeping good notes !!!!

another Cav charge finds home down in the south, another 3500 of my men go down, just at the top, you can see my retreating Inf, had to move a weak Jager unit into there place, that is a prime spot for my guns, and too many Horses running lose to leave them unguarded

fire on a Supply wagon, and do 4000 killed !!!, my How, got a good shot in on a Inf column rushing forward and killed 2600

(I am better trained then my enemies, but I do not have many upgrades yet)

he tried to make one last soild wedge Cav attack, but my line held and my counter fire ruined any chance he had, another supply wagon, got nailed for 2600

as you can see, most of my losses were to those two Cav charges

the battle as I had hoped, ended the war, and as a reward, I get a new CAV Leader

he was sent to Corps du Horse in the Grand Armee, which arrived late

and as you can see, Large battles are either Great for you, or very bad for you !

I really think Austria was counting on having some friends, only Spain and England, kind of like me right now (I doing over 100 dollars in trade with England)

and they turned down his offer to suppost his war

oh well, nothing for the Grand Armee to do, but wait

this is the Grand Armee
Corps du Horse
Corps du Inf
Corps du Cannon

the leaders in Horse and Cannon are two of my bonus Leaders from combat
