USMC divs not getting tanks
In my CHS game the 1st & 2nd USMC Div have a TOE listing of getting 50+ tanks but they aren't getting any. I've tried splitting them then recombining them but still don't get any. I've got 20+ in pool. Has anyone else had this problem?

I think you need to wait until they have at least 54 in the pool before you can get them. The TOE calls for 54 tanks.
RE: USMC divs not getting tanks
I thought they would get them like replacements as they arrived in the pool not wait for the whole lot before filing out [&:]

My div's aren't pulling them either. I'm playing on v 1.02. Even if there is only 1 in the pool, a unit should equip it.
The older I get, the better I was.

One of my Mohawk IV squadrons is not pulling planes either (CHS 1.02). It has now 0 planes so cannot transfer it to Command HQ. There is 107 Mohawks in pool and base (Akyab) had 15 000 supply (trying to get it to 20 000 if that'd do the trick). Go figure...and yes, I do have "Accept replacements" on. I think if there are planes in pool and supply, it should draw replacements. Upgrades need that 20 000 supply.

Mohawks have a real short range. It might be the <20,000 supply plus being too far from the base's HQ.

I have Command HQ well within transfer range (Chandpur to Akyab)and with 100 000 supply. But 20 000 supply in hex seems to be the key. Just cannot figure out why...[&:]. They *should* get replacements from Command HQ in that case anyway...

RE: USMC divs not getting tanks
I only have the early CHS scenario to look at. It may have been fixed.
The problem is that the Tanks have not been allocated to a slot in the 1st Marine Div LCU (unit #2912).
Tanks are in slot 10 of the TOE, but there is no weapon system in the corresponding slot 10 of the LCU itself. The weapon device should have been set to 540 Tanks (with the num and dis set to 0) in order for the replacements to fill out to TOE numbers.
Basically what it saying is even though there are Tanks in TOE, the unit does not want them.[:D]

This is going to affect a whole lot more units...if that is the case.

NO!
I used to do this (include the device in the unit with the number set to zero) but I was warned that it was a problem. Also I note the WITPCHK reports it as an error.
If a given slot in a unit is empty but the corresponding slot in the TOE is not empty, the unit will fill from the TOE. There were reports of problems if the device is enterred in the unit with a number of 0.
If the device in the Marine Division is #540, than this is an older version of CHS. It took us (me) a while before we learned that devices numbered above 516 did not properly keep a pool. ALso this is now reported as an error by WITPCHK. Any device with a number higher than 516 will never fill out. This was fixed in CHS1.02 (and maybe earlier).
I have run some tests using CHS 1.02. I set the pool to a large number and set the 1st Marine Division to arrive next to the 2nd as of scenario start. Also made sure San Diego had lots and lots of supply. Both units drew tanks the first day, but only three each (which surprised me).
RE: USMC divs not getting tanks
Maybe thats my problem. I think my current game is started under CHS 1.0 or 1.1 but I'm patched to 1.2, hopefully will get 1.3 or 1.4 patched soon.

That's not the case. Remember, in War Plan Orange we have US Divisional TOEs with 37mm Gun M1916s, but none assigned to any Division. After SEVERAL turns, and slowly, Divisions in the rear areas slowly equip them. I think the error is as Don said, the device number is 540, and out of the replacement range.

RE: USMC divs not getting tanks
Sorry guys,[&o]
I really thought if you left a weapon slot in the LCU with a device 000, it would never build up that slot.
I did noticed my old CHS did use the device 540, and changed it to the M3 which had a lower device number.
Must be getting to old and bleary eyed.[>:]
Well at least, I started a burst of activity on Forum.[:D]
[Edit]
I was actually thinking about ship and class weapon slots. A ship must have all the weapons of the class defined in the correct slots, otherwise upgrades and repairs can get confused.
If you leave a blank slot on the ship, when you look at the ship information screen, it shows a blank description with details and numbers in red.

Sorry guys, my bad. I was wrong on this. I checked last night and my marine div's are pulling tanks. I was thinking of a unit that hadn't pulled tanks for the first few months because there weren't enough being produced. It's now July and all units that I could find had either pulled all or most of the tanks for their TOE.
The older I get, the better I was.
