I had a very close friend when I was a kid - he'd fought with the AEF in France in WWI. He gave me his helmet - which has a big dent right on the top. He said "They were all like that - it's from pounding tent pins into the ground."

Got a few other cool mementos, too - his draft papers, medals, a journal he kept on the troop ship, and a compass he used when he became a runner. And a German belt buckle - "God is with us". Really miss the old guy.

Now that you mention it, I've never actually seen an Adrian without a dent. Nice to know why...[8D]
