Crashing after a few minutes

Since installing the UpDate the the game is Crashing on me.
I had an old version of DirectX so I upgraded to V7, But SPWAW is still crashing on me. I have reduced the sound settings in DirectX to Normal. And I finally Uninstalled and started from scratch, but its still crashing.
I am using a Cyrix 350 with 96 Megs Ram and 600megs H/D free on the game Drive, Can anyone HELP????????

I had a similar situation. I had just completed a few turns of a scenario and the game shut down. Didn't crash my pc, just exited the game. I'm hoping it was just because I was connected to the internet at the time and something burped. But this is a lesson in "saving the game after every turn!" If not more!
