Difficulty level and Detailed Battles

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Difficulty level and Detailed Battles

Post by mavraamides »

Does increasing AI level make it play better in tactical battles or only
give it more and better units to play with?

In other words, with EXACTLY THE SAME UNITS ON EACH SIDE would the tougher AI easily
beat the easier AI in a head to head detailed battle?

In COG 1.1, difficulty level affects starting forces and economic bonuses.
There is no difference strategically or tactically etc etc.

May I be clarified whether there are just more starting forces and economic bonuses for AI-controlled powers?

Higher difficulty levels gives an economic bonus to the AI and provides some bonuses to die-rolls in combat; higher power levels (+3 to -3) modifies the economy and at higher levels gives bonus starting units.

Hi Eric,

Can you provide more information as to which difficulty level begins to give combat bonuses and what those bonuses are? My default level vs the AI is Bonaparte because I figure the AI needs all the help it can get, but I would like to know what kind of a bone I'm throwing them.

Eric, can you tell me exactly what color saturation is used to properly encode the matrices for deciding which metrics are involved with the planning of the construction grids dependant on gamma correction? [8D]
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?
