One of my Best battles

Wow, this was a nasty bugger, from the start (test game)

337,000 Austrian vs 79,000 French, with a fast call for help from 133,000 French nextdoor

first army was weak in Inf, with the rest being Cav, no Arty support

decided to run, ahh mean retire towards my reinforcements, of course, I lost my Supply as soon as the battle starts

the AI's Inf must of been mounted on trains as they were on me almost as soon as I turned to build my mini line, I had to use my Cav to make the enemy form into squares, over and over again, it was looking good, as my Inf was formed into Line and should have the advantage of fireing into there massed formations

but one of his Cav broke my line formation and routed the Div, as it pulled out of the line, it was mauled by other enemy Cav

then the reinforcements started to come on (think I found a bug, or a complaint at least with reinforcements)

but they are tired and need to rest a few turns, before forceing them into battle, but the AI is not giveing me much chance of this

the main hassle, outside of my losses already, is supply, the reinforcements are low on ammo and tired, the starting units are all out of ammo

finally, my 2 Hv Atry Units show up, all the way south of the battle !, 2 turns later another Arty unit comes in, between the 3 of them, they break the southern forces (with lots of help from the rest of the reinforcement army)

I finally break some of his Inf, and my Cav cuts large paths though them

as night falls, the enemy breaks and begins to run away, I logger around my Arty and let them run, my troops are too tired to give chase

36,000 of them fall, to 16,000 of mine

oh, by the way, that was the Cap of Aus they were fighting for, and they pulled there troops from the city for the battle, so, I now control there Cap

120,000 troops have joined them this month, with another 100,000 moving into Ofer

they still have some 250,000 troops to try another attack this month, but, an attack on there Cap will end the war for them, a attack on Ofer has a chance, but I don't think so

Hate losing that supply the first turn! Really hate it. Seems to happen an awful lot, though. I'd like some work done on your supply arriving behind your mass of troops instead of far to the sides.

Sometimes I can get some cav around my supplies and protect them. Most often though, the enemy cav just doesn't have enough MP's to do the charge. But when they do! Makes the battle very dicey indeed. This is where my cav gets to sacrifice itself on unbroken formations to make up for my lack of lead and powdah.

We're thinking of distributing 1 or 2 supply caissons with each corps for armies that are in-supply. This probably won't make it into the next patch though.
