Innings Pitched error?

Post by proxybot »

I noticed on my closer's post season innings pitched over 4 seasons: 6.2 , 4.2, 6, 8.2 add up to 26.6. However, in reality if 0.2 counts has 2/3 of an inning, then the total should be 26.0

Not sure if the regular season stats are counted correctly..

no, a 0.1 = .33, a 0.2 = .67

if you add them you get 25.67

Nah, proxbot's right. The total should be 26.0.

no when doing math for innings pitched you DO NOT use .1 and .2

1/3 of an inning = .33

2/3 of an inning = .67

Not sure if PS uses .1 and .2 in it's addition, but I tend to think if you use the decimals of a 1/3 and 2/3 you get the number PS gave him

I recommend you bust out a calculator.

Yes you are right... in my second post I must have used .33 in one of those numbers. Does look like it is adding the decimal as .1 or .2.

I did use a calulator the first time, and could have sworn that one of his original numbers had a .1 in it, but I must have just read it wrong.
