auto convoy

How does auto-convoy work? I have it set to on, but no convoys are being created at Osaks/Kobe to gather or deliver resources.

You have to assign ships to it...but last I heard it wasn't working right as far as routing your TFs.

I have most of the ships in Osaka/Kobe assigned to auto-convoy, and all my bases are turned on. If auto-convoy doesn't work very well, I am going to enjoy the game less...will take to long to have to manage resource gathering and dispensing to the correct hexes.

I haven't messed with auto convoy since about two weeks after the game came out. I didn't like how it was letting bases get too low before sending a convoy. I just handle it all myself.

Thanks for the input...I guess I will just have to get used to being the general in charge of supply.

IJ simply can't do auto convoy. There isn't enough supply available. If there were unlimited supply, that would be a different story. Supply is more precious to IJ than even oil, for the first four months. Dole it out as if it were gold.

If you are going to use Autoconvoy, never assign more than about 10 ships to it. That way it won't drain the home islands of all their supply. Use it only to supply those bases that are vitally important to you (like Manila) and watch it like a hawk!

I wouldn't worry about sending it to those bases that generate some supply, even if it isn't enough. Keep those manually supply.

It was severely broken in 1.5 (IIRC), fixed partially in 1.6x.

If used, it is not a good idea to put bases near the front into the system. Only add bases which are in secured areas.
