Speed W@W: 5 minute turns

Post by aletoledo »

I'd like to try playing a really fast game of W@W tonight. I'd like to propose a 5 minute time limit on turns and that way we can really get through the majority of the game in one night probably.

I'd like to play axis, because I have a nice build order I'd like to try and I it all planned out already. therefore I can easily make 5 minute turns, but obviously you would need to be very comfortable with allies to accomplish this.

I'd like to start at 8pm eastern time USA and try to play until w43 (or one of us surrenders).

I'll only be able to do this with one person, so please post in the forum when you're sure you can do it.

Im' in! [:D]

The only issue is that 5 min turns will be almost impossible at the start of the game, especially for GE and WA.

Maybe we can be a little flexable at the start.

PM me when you get on, I'll be around all day.

if you guys want a third party to time things or moderate the match I'm here

I think 5 minutes is a little short though...does anybody know what the tcp/ip beta set as a default time for each turn?

I wasn't calling it a hard 5 minute limit, just on my side really. I have the first couple years pretty much written in stone for the strat I'm try and it probably won't get more than 5 minutes until after 1943.

at the moment doobious hasn't responded, so hyperbob if you (or paul if you're reading this) wants to take his place I can send you the turn. I'll give him to 8:30 eastern time.

anyone reading this might be interested to know that its more like 10 minute turns. getting the email, downloading, opening W@W, playing and then returning the email, all seem to add up to 10 minutes.

There is no reason to close WaW after each turn - so you dont need to reopen.

The TCP beta is currently set at 15 mins per phase - but you can customize it anyway you like.
