Problems upgrading SPWAW from 4.5 ---> 5.01

I used 10 hours (with my 56K modem) yesterday to download all the patches from 4.5 to 7.0. When i run 4.5 to 5.01 upgrader (Spwaw-v45-v501-Upgrade.exe) it says:

"C:\...\snd\stream\vid998.smk
A decompression error has been detected (#7)
File crc mismatch - Data integrity error"

(And this leads to that the game doesn't run at all)

I downloaded this through this site, though the file was located at eDome. As i said this took A LOT of my time and i really hope there's something to do...

I have the same problem.. Before I tried to install the patch (From 4.5 to 5.01), I checked that I have the file vid998.smk, and it was there.

I also tried to install it twice.

Edit: I checked the ..\snd\stream folder and the vid998.smk is missing. Weird. Might this be because I cancelled the install, when I tried the third time? <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

There is a stand alone d/l of the SMK file. You will need to d/l that and put it into the \SND\stream folder.

This will then allow you to play the game.

Both of you will need to d/l the smk file again.

Drei, It's worth of waiting (I waited hour), 'cause now it works.. I'll now continue happily downloading the newer versions.
