I have broken my mod

Post by ladner »

I seem to have broken a mod that I have made, the mod added greatly to the IJN, IJNAF, IJA, and IJAAF. The IJN received several destroyers, CAs, and extra capital ships in the following classes Shokaku, Taiho, Yamato. IJNAF and IJAAF both have increased pools and numbers of trained pilots per month. The build dates for the Jack, Frank, Tony and Tojo have all been moved up. The IJA has received three 'armored' brigades. I know this is fantasy but the mod was intended to make the AI have some teeth when playing Japan, at least as much as could be expected from the AI.

However, I have problem were even with the 1.602 beta my allied ship CO's disappear on the first turn. For example G.D. Murray no longer commands the USS Enterprise, so I am begging does anyone have any ideas of how I fix this? [&o]

I have vested a lot of time into this and would like to fix it. This mod is mainly just for kicks and to make more challenge when going against the Japanese as played by the AI. So any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated, I can go into further detail if someone needs to know what slots were modified and so forth.

Someone had mentioned that this issue had been brought up before on a different mod, any links to this thread would be appreciated. Also could use help from modders especially CHS folks on slots, which ship slots are reserved and if using an incorrect slot could 'break' a mod. It was alluded that this could happen in an earlier thread I started.

Plea to users who are expert with WiTP Excel editor. I think I have found my problem just not sure how to fix. Using CAPT Buckmaster of Yorktown as example he appears as leader 7164 when I open the WiTP regular editor, in the Excel editor he happens to be in row 7168. I am going to try and sort the first column to see if this fixes the problem.

I just opened Scenerio 15's leader file in both the built-in editor and WitPExcel and Cpt. Buckmaster is in slot 8089 for both and the commander of the Yorktown for both. I double checked by saving in WitPExcel and reloading to see if anything moved.

Which version of WitPExcel are you using?
