Your opinion wanted fellow gamers

Post by djcrash »

I just bought me the starchip divided II and i encounter a prob i have with lots of games like counterstrike and settlers .

It just freezes and stalls , glitches from time to time

i have a Thunderbird 1000 Mhz with 512 Mb ram running official XP

could the OS be the prob or the fact that i own a TNT2 Nvidea 32 Mb graphics card ?

Its not funny , all games stall in action , to late to save the game , always everything lost and reboot .....

Maybe someone has or better had this prob before and could help me out

TIA

Hi,

do you have the latest graphic card rivers installed? I fnot, go to the nvidia site and download the latest "Detonator" driver pack.

http://www.nvidia.com/

for the WinXP detonator pack:

As for SU2, please also download the patch:

ftp://ftp.matrixgames.com/pub/StarshipsUnlimited/StarshipsUnlimitedDividedGalaxiesv1-1Update.zip

Hope this helps.

For TNT2 based cards latest detonar drivers aren't always the answer. I've tried several of the most recent drivers and usually end up with lower performance than with 5.xx or 6.xx driver sets.

Also with later drivers you lose several tweaking options from the display/tnt2 settings screen.

Seems that when the GeForces came out they've just concentrated their driver development to GF cards and plainly ignored us strategygamers who don't need the latest bells and whistles.

Of course, I don't use XP so I don't know how the situation is with it...but I suspect the same.
