Calculating Assault Values and Load Costs

Post by scout1 »

I was wondering if anyone knows how to calculate the assault value for a given unit given the makeup of it. The database lists the contents of each unit for pre-turn 1, but how can I use that to calculate the starting assault value ?

Same kind of question for load cost. Now each device has a load cost and I'm guessing its just a matter of the summation of (# of dev A * load cost dev A + # of dev B * load cost of dev B + ......). However, that doesn't explain how the determination for load cost by ship type is handled (AK vs AP vs LST). Anyone know ?

Assault Value is roughly the total of your infan sqds and guns.

Load cost is determined as you figured and the cost per ship based on table in the manual...

So for the assault value is the approx. summation of the infantry sqd's + # of guns A + # of guns B, etc .... ?

I did a quick check for load cost for the 53rd IJA and came up with ~ 34100 load points. Checked the game and it has ~ 24000 for AP and 41000 for AK. So unless the multiplier is less than 1 for AP, this isn't it or I made a mistake somewhere ....

Check page 97 of the manual for load costs.

Also the load cost of disabled devices is half the load cost of normal devices.

I would have actually doubled the cost, myself. Casualities normally take up more room than the able bodied.
