Map on West-Civ.com

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Map on West-Civ.com

Post by mavraamides »

I remember earlier there was a post about whether we could get a map of
all of the therritories to look at and use as a planning device.

While at http://www.west-civ.com/ I noticed on the main page there is a
map that would be perfect only its too small.

Is there any way we can get a higher res copy of THAT map? I'd love to
print it out and use it for planning....

Here's the COG map shrunk to the biggest 8.5"x11" printable size I could get. Looks as though it's still too small to read the area names.

Might be better to use a copy of EIA's map for that purpose, or not. :p

Thanks! Better than nothing. Plus, it looks real nice too.

BTW, I have a printer at work that can handle anything up to 2400 x 3300 pixels
so if you happen to have a larger version, that would be great. Otherwise, this on should
still be useable as long as I can see distinct territories...

Why, are they exactly the same (I'm not very familiar with EIA)?

Not exactly, simply out of my hope that the COG map will be improved a bit (like by giving Spain her realistic proportions [:'(]) to rival its EIA counterpart.

You can try just printing the game map itself -- Gfx\EuGame32_3.pcx.

We did much more distorting on the map than just Spain. The goal was to make provinces neither too big (as they had been in Russia and in Spain) nor too small (as they had been along the Rhineland.)

Hi Naomi,

There is also a fun 'decorative' map w/ the flags on it floating around. I'll try to remember to dig it up and post it.

Perfect! Thanks.

Loads up in Paintshop Pro and I think I can print it onto 4 sheets and have the names readable.

Thanks again!

Raleghs COG Map

Post by Ralegh »

I couldn't resist.

My version is a pdf, which prints out 4 standard pages which you then join together (and in my case, laminate) - but at this size, you CAN read the names. Its an optomised B&W, but still weighs in at 20MB.
If anyone wants a copy www.rosesolutions.com/temp/Raleghs COG Map.pdf

The single file version I use (at the office, where I don't have the game) is there too - (8MB) - www.rosesolutions.com/temp/EuGame32_3.png

I'm currently working on a version that has geographic information on it so I don't have to look things up on tables... I'll let ya'all know if it works out.

Wow, thanks Steve. The maps sound great. Do you have enough filespace/bandwidth to keep these files up? I can post mirrored copies on the WCS site if you're low on space/width.

Hmmm... I'm getting an IO timeout about half-way through the download. I'll try again later tonight.
