Can't turn off combat reports in 1.604

I just updated to the newest patch. Even though I have the combat reports turned off the game still stops with a combat report after every combat. I turned it off on the main menu options and in the game. I noticed the patch reset all the other options to the default settings but I was able to turn them to what I wanted.

Anyone else notice this?

WHAT!!! I multi task at work. Meaning I do my job while a turn is playing out. Boy productivity is going to suffer in the 4th quarter. lol

It was a fix for the combat report syncing...the japanese player sets those otions and it stays that way until the Japanese player changes it. The two players having different options set was leading to the combat reports and replays being different.

We are assuming you are playing PBEM. If you are going against the AI then something is wrong.

I only play against the AI. I've never played a PBEM. I'm not dependable enough to send people turns on a sched basis.

Do I have to switch to Jap player mode [allied CPU] to change this or are the people who play strictly AI just screwed?

If it is an AI game...you should be able to change anything you want.

Well I can't. Maybe I'm the only person left playing the AI that wants to turn the combat reports off.

Reports are what creates the reports you see when you click on the buttons at the top of the screen. I think you are thinking about the on-offs in the preferences screen for animations and summaries.

Just turned off both summaries and animations against the AI and it worked as advertised. Even though I can't see why anyone would want to turn off combat reports, I tried it and they also turned off as advertized: no combat report button on the menu bar the next turn.
