Team Regions

Post by NatsWin »

I have put together a couple of historical associations using Lahmans, but I notice that when I go to the team page, the regions for the teams are very weird. i.e. Yankees are shown as being in California, Toronto is in Washingon state, etc.

I can go in and change them manually, but it only changes the town not the state - so now the Yankees are in NY, CA (!)

Any ideas what I am doing wrong or if I can fix it after the event.

Thanks

I've seen this, too. I've got the Yankees in Detroit. Is there any practical effect?
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

Yes, it does control how much $ a team has available.

Unfortunately the way the team/franchise data is setup in Lahman (there are thousands of rows) I didn't quite get to the point where I could auto-map a Lahman team to a PureSim region to work 100% of the time so I scrapped that code.

Unfortunately right now if playing with geographically disparate finances is important, you must map them yourseleves. Many people play replays like this with either equal finances (or without financials at all). The only other impact is climate, which can also be edited on each team once the association is created.
