Coast Watchers are everywhere

Try running 2.4 for the 1st time last night. Due to work, I haven't played UV in over a year.

During the combat cycle, I got strange coastal watcher (CW) reports. (Maybe it was like this before, but memory is bad.) I believed the report was suppose to show the location of the CW. But the game last night had CWs in Noumea reporting on what I appeared to be US ships (at least I hope the IJN hadn't slipped a CA that close without it being noticed.) It also reported on ships in Truk by CWs as well as ships in between Truk and Rabaul (maybe the CW were in dugouts.) It had CWs in Brisbane reporting on ships there.

Can't recall which scenario I started but it begins June 15th, 1943.

Anyone else have this problem?

Upgrade to 2.41 That should fix the CW problem.

2.41 upgrade will fix the coastwatchers everywhere problem , but will give you others as will the subsequent patch ( 2.42 ).
You are best off returning to 2.30 until 2.42 fixed.

I think hell will freeze over before that happens......the game is five years old now so you cannot realistically expect any more patches.......I agree however 2.30 is the best version to play with.

True enough - but I think there was a push to do a final patch just this year - and I don't think the 2.42 beta is it. So maybe there is hope.

What can I do because I've dowloaded the game patched up to 2.41. Is there a way to "downgrade" it?

sure, go to ftp.matrixgames.com and find the 2.30 patch for UV....
