Patches/Upgrades

Post by DEB »

I have 3 Battleground titles ( Napoleonic ) & Age of Sail.
All were obtained some time ago and I now note that my version of each is out of date. However only the last upgrand/patch is available in each case ( via Wargamer website ). Any chance ALL of the patches will be made available for us diehards who would like to play with minimal system problems & maximum reality? [&o]

Better yet go here
Updates
And get the 32 bit update. It features a much improved interface. For all of the games. and optional automated defensive fire for the ACW games. There is a link there to Rich Hamiltons BG patch site those are the ones you need to make the up dates work so you will have to reinstal, Patch, upgrade, well worth the effort.

Thanks for the suggustions lads but neither gets me what I require.
The "patches scrolls" I had found already ( on Wargamer ), these give only the last ( 16 Bit ? ) update. The "updates" info gives 32 Bit updates but reminds you that the previous patches should already be up to date and I am not. [:(]

My game versions are :-
Waterloo : 1.12 ( scrolls = 1.14 ) , I need 1.13 & 1.14.
Napoleon in Russia : 1.01 ( scrolls = 1.03 ) , I have a 1.02 patch but it
crashes as it cannot find a certain file to delete !
Prelude to Waterloo : 1.01 ( scrolls = 1.04 ) , I need 1.02, 1.03 & 1.04.
Age of sail : 1.01 ( scrolls = 1.05 ) , I need 1.02, 1.03, 1.04 & 1.05.

Anyone out there know were I can get these ?
Will Matrix provide them ? I presume they will be needed prior to the 32 bit update/s and anything matrix are planning re improvements.[:)]

Its the Nir project's link. They have as Im sure you all know a huge number of mods to these games (Bg) and with an new AI they jus might be playable as singleplayer....

I would sincerely hope so. I'm just taking it as a given that this is the minimum starting point. I really consider the pre up date interface to be real close to unuseable.

Thanks to all for replies/suggestions.
Have visted the sites ( and various insite links ) but they still only list the last available update - unless of course they have their predecessors linked in ( not specified ) , these will not help.
Can any one advise if ( for example ) NIR version 1.03 includes 1.02 & 1.03 or just 1.03 ?[&:]

Great - thanks for this. Have now upgraded my NIR to 1.03 ( patch large though )and it now runs to about the same rules as BGW & PTW.

I'll have to think about the others/check out patch size as I am now under 2.00 GB free space & the Computer people tell me I should keep approx. that free to keep things running smoothly.

Hi DEB
what Op system you running ?
if you have restore points, these really suck up the Mem storage space, and all you really need are a few recent ones, you can delete the earlier one if you need to free up space

if those patches came as zip files, you can delete the zips once you opened them (double file) and if HARD up, you can always delete the patches after you patch the games
