Attacks. Where's the rhyme & reason?

It may use more supplies to send in a bunch I'm a newbie so I dont 'know' but I assume it would. Why have the whole flotilla there for D-day if only 1 will shoot? Did I just have bad luck the first few times and there is a chance they could all show up?

the number of ships firing in support of an amphibious attack is dependent on the number of units landing. you get one ship firing for each unit landing.

if you simply do an air attack, with any number of planes, you'll only get a single ship firing. of course you could just send one plane in at a time, then you'll get one ship firing per air attack.

It's still a bummer if you have a few battleships there and some destroyer shows up to pot away at concrete emplacements.

I was practising with air raids on crete and 2 heavies in the central med and only 1 went in.

until the flak dies I think that might be bad, but after that maybe tonight.

I think the heavy fleet always goes first. I've done a lot of bombard against yugoslavia with the italian fleet and as long as the BB ships haven't fired they'll go before the light fleets.

Now that you say that I'm wondering if my heavy fought that turn and didn't bombard because of it?

yes, you're right. a bombard counts as an attack and thus if it fought previously, it can't bombard.
