Russian at-start status w/Prussia

Post by Russian Guard »

v1.2.14
Just something to check - Started an 1805 campaign with Russia (as usual) last night. 3 turns in I remembered that handy "tab" feature to activate the nation relationship status bar.

Checking Prussia, one of the options for me was to STOP violating Prussian Territory, but I wasn't - and hadn't - ever violated Prussian lands, unless sending a diplomat to charm them counts.

Just concerned that the game is starting with a flag set that Russia begins the game violating Prussian territory...or perhaps this particular feature (the bar) is acting wacky.

Are Prussian lands drawn with a diagonal hatching overlay? That means "violating territory."

I'll check tonight (no game at work, imagine that). I don't recall seeing what you describe, so it could be that the text is wrong but the effect isn't in place (if you know what I mean).

But when I moused over the Prussia icon on the status bar it definitely offered the option to CEASE violating Prussia territory, and in fact I clicked on that and then it changed to the "Violate" option.

OK, I am unable to re-create this. I tried several times, everything seems to be fine.

I'm losing my mind!

Just ask my wife.

Sorry for the apparently bogus concern...*scratches head*

If I've given a nation a treaty for free passage, once that treaty has expired I have to click on "cease violating territory" even if I haven't set foot in their nation. I find that if I don't do this they get angry at me quickly.

Yeah, I've noticed that Free Passage doesn't seem to end. I took it as a victory condition against several nations and years later way after the expiration date the cross-hatch remained and I was able to enter their territory. Didn't notice if they got mad at me though.

Curious to know if the newest beta-patch is supposed to end the unconditional violation of neutrality.

AaHAH!

I'm not going insane after all. Indeed, I had set up a Free Passage arrangement with Prussia, although it wasn't reciprocal. I offered them 3 years of forced Peace in return for Free Passage.

I don't remember the specific timing, but it's noteworthy that I had also set up that arrangement. If it had expired, then I was probably in violation as described above.
