AI Upgrades

Post by gustavus »

I can't see that the AI is recieving or picking any upgrades, neither at the end of turn info or at the country information? [&:]

I've seen some in my 1.2.14 games. Can you verify that its military levels are high enough to qualify for them?

Jep, I played at least for two years and everytime the monthly report stated that I had recieved an upgrade I was the only one that did. When I quit, I looked at the other players military levels and there where several countries that had 6 and above but only four upgrades, which they had from the start, so they hadn't picked any new during the game.

The AI must have been too busy with trumping or cheating us, which left it with little time for such a serious task.

When I've taken a province with some development happening, it's never culture or barracks being upgraded. Most often it's farms or walls.

The AI may be practising a traditionalist doctrine where numbers matter most, and shrouding itself in such an aristocratic air that it didn't like its hand in either dirty sweat-scented barracks or second-rate military culture.

Also, the AI player doesn't choose to become an empire. I've seen empire-levels of 24-25 but nothing happends. [&o]

You (in the game) will be able to see Prussian out of her tiny lair - if you (again in the game) be allowed to live through to the next century.

I can confirm that in the latest beta patch the AI does not upgrade.

I started the 1805 scenario and let it run for two years.

In 1807 France had 12.69 points, but still the original 8 upgrades. Austria had 6.77 points, but still only the 5 original upgrades.

Also no Empire notices from anyone. When the 1805 scenario starts, both France and Turkey are eligible for Empire and before this patch would declare it every time on the very first turn. After the beta patch they do not (I let it run for 2 years).
