who is who

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Hi all,

many of us know each other from JCs site, but some are maybe new.
Also many of us now use other alter egos.

So, please introduce yourself [:)]

Lets start:

On the JCs forum I am known under my forename Werner,
on this board I have chosen SWIFT as a joke to counter Stevens SPEEDY [:D] ( better would have been slowly for him [:'(] )

I am from Vienna, Austria; and I am a long time wargamer.
Other hobbies are reading ( I have somewhat around 5k books ), music and working ( yes, I like working - I am a workaholic [X(] )

I need no introduction.

I'm one from that infamous gang of Axis Fanboy beta testers that ruined WitP and UV. WPO would have fallen to my evil....but alas, there was not enough time for my tentacles to engulf TankerAce.

I also hold the distinction of owning both BoB and BTR for 3+ years and never playing a single campaign game due to spreadsheetius Shockitus.

Yes, we managed to flamethrower Nikademus off that beta team... Don't need him to help us ruin WPO.[:D]

Erhem, played both BoB and BtR for many a happy session over a number of years. Looking forward to getting versions that don't crash 18 times an hour.

I am Seydlitz here, and Seydlitz on JC's forum, although I am much more a lurker than a poster.

Don Gilmore in Real life.
I am the poor schmuck who hooked JC up with Gary G's email address...little did I know where it would lead.

At the time that Gary had just finished doing BOB, a longtime friend of mine was the Talonsoft producer assigned to the project. Knowing that WWII air was a favorite subject (after WWII naval) he brought me in as a tester after I bought the game and was giving him a tough time about how I was able to win the long campaign in 2 or three days missions (power plant exploit). I tested for Gary on the two patches that were released, and then the directive was to move on to BTR. I tested on BTR from Beta through the final talonsoft released patch. Gary moved on to his UV project (which he was working on while he finished BTR, hence the inclusion of datafiles for some pacific theater a/c).

If you look at the manual and read me files for BTR, you will see some other faces that were testers on the project, including David Heath and Erik Rutkins.

Sad to say, Talonsoft was very much in a "kick it out the door in time to make end of quarter sales" while we were testing BTR, and their willingness to continue tying up staff on support duty was nothing like Matrix. I was glad to see that JC was able to lick a few nagging bugs, but some of the ones that have been there since the beginning are still there in one form or another.

UV is a modified (how much I don't know since I haven't seen the code) BTR engine, and possibly some of the work that was done to fix issues there could be retrofitted to BTR. WITP is a different engine altogether.

I am glad to see that David has put someone in charge that is very familiar with the game and the history of the mods post-talonsoft.

Hi Greyshaft,

Your account on the BTR forum hasn't been activated because JC has been AWOL for quite a while. Hopefully he should resurface soon and will probably activate any new accounts.
