Bug with carrier movement

Post by toddtreadway »

I just found this bug (at least I assume it is). It can be duplicated right at the beginning of the game as Japan, and I assume it applies to other countries as well.

If you move the Japanese carriers to the sea area off the coast of the Southernmost Chinese coastal territory and then fly the planes off the carriers into a friendly Chinese coastal province, then detach them from the carriers, you can then continue moving the planes to attack inland but undo the moves of the carriers which will also put the supply back in the reserve as if the carriers had not moved. I'm not sure if the CAG's use supply, but the CV's whose moves are undone put their supply back.

Another strange behavior that may have been intended is that CAG's which attack can then be strategically moved to a carrier. For example, I had a CAG which was based in London and attacked into the North Sea. After the attack it strategically moved from London to a CV near Italy.

I can confirm the first bug - the supplies from the CV are returned while the supply for the plane is not.

I could not dublicate the second bug. You may want to mail a save file showing that bug to Paul Vebber.

Was the carrier not using supply added to the bug list? I didn't see it on there.

Its added now. I wasnt handling the bug list back when you posted this - it was probably missed. Thanks for bringing it to attention again.
