3. Were they ever elected Pope = No
4. Ever in Naval Service = No
5. Was He ever in the Air Force = No
Hint: He was a book author, He also was know before & during WWII
6. Was English his Native Language = No
7. Was he born in Asia = No
8. Was he an Army Officer = Yes
9. Was his Native Language German = Yes
10. Was he an Infantry Officer in WWI = No (Not Infantry)
Hint: He was believed to have been influenced by Tukhachevski

I didn't realize how difficult it was going to be to do Guderian. The list shown above His picture is pretty much what I had in terms of hints.

They all would have given his ID quickly. A few of the answers given me allowed alittle manuvering room.

I wasn't too sure where You and Terminus were going with the WWI question, so I gave the non-hint.

I knew Rommel was also published, I thought wording my first hint that way would cause some doubt, but you could have also thought Hitler until question #8

Yes, from what I have been reading recently in 1943, Hitler discovered he made a hugh mistake when he sacked Guderian in 1941 and made him Inspector General of the Armored Troops, after the attempted bombing he made Guderian Army Chief of Staff out of pure trust.

When Guderian could not stop the Russians from taking Berlin, Hitler dismissed, Heinz his old freind and granted him leave.
