May 1940 Ironfist vs SwampRat

Large Map, H2Hfr7.1, May 1940. German-Hungarian Forces attack the Russians. True cost off/rarity on, 85% sighting, Historic on, air set to default, 30 turns, Ammo limited, Fast arty off, and "C-C" off. German Pioneers & SS Men riding on Pzkfw-IIIh's and Sdkz 250's attacked the Northern most Corner. Supported by Pzkfw_IV-D's with MG34's crews and Scouts led the assault. They were met head on by Soviet Cavalary and T-34m41's supported by Kev-II's and 120mm mortor fire. My Support units moved up and killed the advancing T34's, my Mobile "AA"'s mopped up the Cavalary units. Pzkfw-IV's blocked counter fire by setting smoke screen at the end of my turn. Two Flak 88's and Panzergrenadiers with Pzkfw_III's circled far south to flank soviet artillery units spotted in the center of the map. FO units called in Stuka's and 105 FH's to surpress mortor units and destroyed an ammo dump. By turn 3 Armor sprearhead in the North had crossed the small Creek and had routed the T34's and Inf. Kiev-II's were slowed by smoke and stukas. Pioneers brought the Soviet advance in the center to a halt with help from Two 105cm FH's Batterys. Southern Spearhead Flank move broke through and captured rear southern cross roads and routed several Inf units and destroyed a couple 81mm and AT-guns. Turn 4 The Hungarian Paratroopers Came in and closed off all retreat and reinforcements in the North. Reserve Soviet tank units were busy fighting the Hun's while my armor group Punched through to link up. By the end of turn Five the Russians had surrendered. All prisoners were shot [X(] and my Kompgruppe headed on towards Moscow. [&o]

There was no surrender Aaron. The game was abandoned by me due to the patent unfairness in the set up of the system. We discussed the issues involved with True Troop OFF, after all. [8|]

Well discussion was'nt till afterwards and quitting is just as good as surrender. the true troop off gave you the advantage overwise I would have had twice the number of armor units. Russians didnt out number the Germans till 42. And true troop cost does not effect historic setting as far as I know, and if you want to be more rude thats up to you.... All's fair in Love and War, I play total all out War.. I was well within all set up guide lines.

But with true troop off, you actually would have had less units, not more. True troop ON compensates for value, so units over 70 (which is the default for pricing) cost more (so you get less), while units below 70 cost less (so you get more). Because higher quality units are more effective (over 70, much more effective) the true troop pricing system is designed to compensate to provide two opposing armies of equal effectiveness, rather than equal numbers.

With true troop OFF, you also don't pay any extra for elite troops. So you get 10% extra for free. You don't get loyalty discount or 0% credit though. [:D]
