Patton vs Jan - strange report

Post by George Patton »

I'm playing as allied. Scenario 15, No Historical, Player Def On

We are at 10th of January 1942

He has non attacket PH, so I have all my BB.

He has invaded Malaya but since a week or so he didn't advanced.
All the big LCU jap units are missing. Recon over Johore Bahru and Kuantan find the base almost empty. [&:]

Here is a screen shot:

In Burma he tried to make a raid in Rangoon but I pushed him back. Now it's seems that he has only two units in Moulmein.

Rabaul and PM are in my hands, also the great part of DEI: only Brunei, Tarakan, Menado and Amboina are fallen. In the PH I have only Bataan and Manila in Luzon, and Cagayan and Butuan in Mindanao. Jolo is fallen but all the rest is in my hands.

He took Tarawa and Makin, but neither Wake or Nauru. [&:]

I mean, we are at 1.10.42, and this is really strange.

I really cannot immagine what is preparing.

What do you suggest guys?

Where has KB been playing all game? Didhe raid Manila on turn 1?

Pretty much, you can only look out for something big. Use maximum air search with as many a/c as possible.

But I would not be too worried about things. The longer he takes to take the DEI, the harder it will be for him later.

Use the time to move a/c into the region, maybe re-inforce the DEI. Fortify India and any major islands you want to keep out if his hands. Sooner or later he has to make a move and you can make him pay dearly for the delays. You may not be able to stop him, but you can really hurt him.

It is really hard to say what he may be planning. Everybody has their own style and ideas. I have not played the game in almost 9 months due to a deployment to Iraq so am rusty. Can not wait to get home and get the feel of the game again.

He used the KB in Malaya area. He attacked Singapore.
BTW PoW is sunk just on the 9th of January by a jap sub, a few hexes from Colombo. [8|]

Repulse is almost save, but in a very bad condition. He will be out of war for a very long time (sys 97)

I am playing a PBEM against him also.

Jan is sneaky and creative so I doubt he is just siiting on his butt waiting for the war to end. As the allied player in our game he keeps bleeding my transports with a/c or surface tfs when he knows the KB is elsewhere.

He is up to something big. I would watch for the KB at Seorabaja or Columbo.

Set all patrols to max and keep checking sigint. If you can recon Siagon I would check to see what is in port there.

We'll both be rusty when it is CHS PBEM time! By the time we ar sorted the game may be that much better too.[:)]
