Lots of action today. In the Marshalls, an allied battleship TF is attacked by Betties. The big ships escape damage, but two light cruisers, Honolulu and Denver get creamed, the TF later on Bombards Jaluit.
In Amboina, an enemy Battleship TF with Kongo and Hiei among them intercepts and heavily damages a barge TF bringing supplies to the bridgehead at Amboina. However, the Battleships get attacked by Avengers from Carrier Task Group 1 and Kongo eats a torpedo[:)]That will show them! The Air battle at Rabaul continues, with the allied forces slowly attriting the Japs.

The commander of the first carrier division got greedy, and stayed around too long to see if he could get another torpedo into Kongo. The result was getting jumped by Akagi et al.
Meanwhile the air battle for Rabaul continues, with, it seems, the Japanese fighters taking the losing part.
