just the tutorial...and I'm already drooling

Panther Games' Highway to the Reich revolutionizes wargaming with its pausable, continuous time game play and advanced artificial intelligence. Command like a real General, under real time pressures to achieve real objectives on a real map all within the fog of war. Issue orders to your powerful AI controlled subordinates or take total control of every unit. Fight the world's most advanced AI opponent or match wits against your friends online or over a LAN. Highway to the Reich covers all four battles from Operation Market Garden, including Arnhem, Nijmegen, Eindhoven and the 30th Corps breakout from Neerpelt.

Nice. nicenicenicenicenice

Just reading along and seeing how my 82nd airborne paras were wiping out German flak units was a blast. The scalability of this game is making me grin. If I want to bear down on the teeny weeny details of unit command, I can do that. If I want to sit back and watch the AI execute my "cunning"[8|] plan without interference, I can do that too.

I haven't loved everything I've bought from Matrix, but I now have three games from these folks that are mine for good. And when COTA comes out, I'll have four.

PS -- The fact that I'm reading that patches will be made for HTTR that add COTA's new features (for a price) has me all but dancing. Good job.

Regarding HTTR back porting features: more recent posts on the matter seem to indicate that new game development is probably more likely than development of patches for purchase to back port features to previous titles.

However, with that said, there is no reason why you cannot enjoy HTTR as it is.

Some might say that you are late to the party, but not me. This year I started playing the 1994 DOS game, "Aces of the Deep". In fact, Aces of the Deep and Silent Hunter (the original DOS game) would probably run very well on your 64Mb machine. Can I come over your house to play?

Enjoy!

I'm FINE with HTTR the way it is. And I'm still getting COTA.

You wanna just pummel me in a game someday, just lemme know. [:)]

But my computer isn't 64 MEG. My computer sucks.....and I get steamed thinking about how it actually performs compared to what Dell said it would do.......but technically, it's packing 256.

I cannot stress enough that the real beauty of it is that it is not fixed and you can do both in the same game : micro-manage an AT Bty defending a crossroad (checking LOS and facing) while letting the whole Welsh Guard Brigade secure the bridges (giving a rough task description).

I have to say that HTTR is probably the best computer wargame I've ever played and COTA is better.
