That's correct, it's a stand-alone title so same price for everyone.

Well, it was a bit more expensive than I had anticipated (was thinking $24.95), but having purchased it, I would have to agree that it is well worth the $44.95 (which does represent a discount from WiTP despite being a stand-alone game. I think the $24.95 would have been fair for an "expansion" type game that required WiTP to play which I think is what we all anticipated back when this project first got off the ground.

I think this version is far superior to the original limited goals of doing a WiTP "mod".

Great work to all involved!
Love & Peace,

My old Piczo site seems to be gone, so no more Navajo Nation pics :(

As a stand-alone game it is a significant discount from WitP. It sort of reminds me of the Panzer General series. There were several stand-alone spinoffs from it which were, IIRC, not that much cheaper if at all from the original progenitor. Actually a discounted stand-alone game is pretty generous. They could have pulled a Firaxis and required buyers to purchase WitP before being able to install WPO. I imagine the discount comes from the fact that most of the initial ground work had already been done in WitP, allowing only for the additional research (no doubt plenty of that), almost entirely reworked graphics and some relatively minor hard code changes which went into WPO.

I never would have imagined $24.95. I've tinkered a little with the WitP editor alone and can't even fathom starting over and redoing the whole thing from scratch which is basically what had to have been involved with WPO, not to mention the graphics and hard code changes. Could you imagine starting from a clean slate and then trying to come up with all the historical data from the 1920s to support changes to the database? It's hard enough to find historical data on many systems from WW2 and WW1, but to find blueprints and drawing board information on things which never saw the light of day? [&o]

All I can say is the hard copies better be ready by next week or else...I'll have to buy it the following week! [:D]
