1 Training, I always train my scouts with max scientists as when you visit a world you get a %20 chance of finding an artifact. Don't dis the artifacts, some of them can change the game in your favor
2 start slow, get the mining research and work on freighters. I go with a max of 3 scouts. The first with 2 computers to see around set to manual destination. The second two have 2 engines and then I use the setting function to explore.
3 Use stellar view and keep the focus screen up to tell you whats happening.
4 Fighters are the most bang for the buck. Beams are my second choice as it looks star trek. Guns are a challenge but also fun. Good luck with the rest as I get shellacked using them. Choose wisely the first weapon as any others after that have a %50 penalty!
4 When you hit a new age EXPLORE as all the planets you have been too need to be rescanned.
6 When you want to attack a system all the ships will head home first ditto to ships that raid. You can turn ship to ignore refit but that works intermittently for me
7 Try not to build a ship under $2000. Start to worry if your getting under $1000. The finance tab makes as much sense as my water bill
8 Watch out for them pirates!
If I did this right you will see what happened to a nice species that got a little too close to my home star. The ship on the left with all the circles I got with the summon ancient warship artifact! Have fun
