I simply cant understand why he sent surfase ships to engage my invasion forces.

The answer is simple: he is Jap fanboy and he just can't play Allied side[:D] - I've tried once on the Allied side back in the UV days and played similar strategy - simple did not care about my "allied" losses.

Hi all,

I dont think that his air force will survive enough time to seriously hit my ground forces. He try several time to attack my LCUs with SBDs and TBDs,even when he commit about 100 bombers result are poor and totally unaccetible by him. He only manage to disable 38 men,and these attacks cause no disruption. Only real treat is 4E bombers which he lost many. His airports at south is in hard position, two more attacks on Soserbaya AF will close that airport, also he will lost many planes at ground. He has two more airports, but these airports are treatened by my LCU. Only real airport is Soserbaya AF which i will close.
He has noumerous ships in Soserbaya harbour, with AF closed KB will come along with BB fleet and start to colect easy points.
My opinion is,
he must evacuate Jawa while AF in Soserbaya still open and provides cover. When i close this airport he wont be able to retreat and all men and ships in Soserbaya will be doomed.
His time running out, with Jawa secured and Manila is about to fall i will have 4-1.
Furthermore,Noumea will be attacked, and most important thing,Russia will be invaded in order to secure 4-1 ratio.
I make terrible mistakes in China and i must do that.

Well allied fighters will be scarce for several months so that the Japanese will have time to retrain their pilots. The problem with allies is that they have quantities of models each with only a driblet of reinforcements a month.

I totally agree, he must be soooo low on everything but F4F's.
He won't be able to stand his ground (fighter-wise) for at least two months from now. He must have burnt out all he had at this point.

Have you cut Soerabaja off from the rest of Java? If GH has built up the fortifications and has some good combat troops and supplies it could hold out for quite a while. You don't want to let retreating troops slip in to add to the defense.

Good luck -

Hi David,

I was unable to cut his troops becouse he has strong airport in Soserbaya, well it was strong airport. Now,only ruins and broken planes are there[:D]. Within a month i will have 8000 APs in Jawa, that is more than enough.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 03/18/42

Another day of beating the allies, now i am convinced that Jawa is big mistake for him. He will manage to delay my advances 1 month, but with how many casulties. Big mistake becouse i am after Jawa only going for Noumea (if not heavily guarded),then i will switch to defence.

Today my bombers strike again Soserbaya AF,he has no cap so my sallys ruin planes and airstrip.
New HQ of gen.Yamashita is luxury hotel in Djoakarta, troops are enter Kragen which will fall tomorrow.
Bettys and nells sinking his ships arround Soserbaya,i call it good training. After i secure Medion i will sent all my airforce there for final push,Soserbaya will be destroyed to the ground.

More troops Landing at Naga, after those man arrive in Manila i will have 4000 APs there,so Manila will fall within 10 days. After that units will embark in already ready transports and go for our final push in Jawa.

The units he brought to Java will be worth a lot of VPs for you.
Taking Noumea may enable you to reach autovictory.
Also the allies don't have that many land units. With heavy land losses allied counter offensive will be much delayed.

STRATEGIC EVALUATION

I mentioned that he makes a mistake try to delay me in Jawa. Ok,this make game more interesting, but in long term it is great setback for allies. Let me explain, after Jawa i will stop all offensive actions (except Noumea and Russia).
India is in distant plans, but i dont realy think of an attack there. Becouse of his mistake to defend Jawa i will get plenty of VPs,and after campaign over and Manila fallen i will have 4-1 ratio.4-1,but not secure.
I make a GREAT mistake in China, becouse of that this war may be prolonged. If i wasnt make that mistake this game will be over with Japanese victory by points, most certain.
Russia will be attacked in response to mistake in China.
Maybe, just maybe i will accomplish victory by points.
Result in mistakes are 1-1,
My mistake - China
His mistake - Jawa
One more thing,I LOVE TO DEFEND.
This will be very interesting game in future.

Hi A.

I am going for autovictory,i dedicated all my efforts to do this.
With Jawa, maybe Noumea i will have my autovictory.
One thing pains me a lot,i think he underestimated me.

Noumea is a good place as it is worth a lot of VPs for the allies, in addition to the troops that can be caught there. It's fairly isolated so that it can be blockaded from the air. Moreover with the losses over Java the Allied Fighter strength will be weakened for several months.

If the F4F pools get depleted it means the American carriers won't be able to replace their fighter losses easily. there are only 90 F4F4 a month. Expanded carrier groups eat up over 200 for the 6 carriers, and the VMF also need some planes even though there are also 20 F4F3.

Well I have two PBEM games currently stranded. One of them is dead and my other opponent might come back though I've had no news from him so far (maybe I should have refrained from putting torpedos in his CVLs in the DEI) so I have nothing better to do than keep lurking in the forum[:D]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 03/19/42

Today we liberated Kragen,25th army will now prepare for final push.Medioen will be attacked next. Bettys and nells sinking his ships arround Jawa. All is going well, too well. I must be carefull not to make mistake. His SBDs and TBDs are vanished from Soserbaya and local airports, but i see about 100 bombers in Koepang.
This means two things,
1. He move his SBDs and TBDs back to CVs
2. He move them to Koepang
Second means that he wait for KB to come close, then hi can lunch attack against and maybe score some hits.
No chance i will close with KB before i shutdown-conquer AFs.
Medan is conquered and my troops rolling in Sumatra.
Kwantung area army prepares for attack SSSR.

Any thoughts?
