Notes on AK and AP Graphics

Post by JWE »

OK, the standard game and CHS game graphic sets are up at Rogue's and Spooky's. I noticed the errata notes at the end of the CHS readme file are a bit incomplete.

The P2 Series AP is Class number 1531. If NO game is in progress, go to class slot 1531 and change the bit map to 60 (if you want to use the grafik). Same with the President Liners, these are in class slot 1535. I suggest renaming the class to "Harris Class AP" (standard 535' passenger/cargo), or something similar, or, alternatively, use the Heywood (standard 522' passenger/cargo). The ships in each class are sorta as follows:

Harris Class (535’ Passenger/Cargo)
AP-7 Wharton (incorrect listing on Navsource, actually 535’ not 636’)
AP-8 Harris
AP-9 Zeilin
AP-25 Leonard Wood
AP-26 Joseph Dickman
AP-27 Hunter Liggett
AP-30 Henry Allen
AP-34 Franklin Bell
AP-35 American Legion
AP-42 Tasker Bliss: Sunk 11/42, never in Pac
AP-43 Hugh Scott: Sunk 11/42, never in Pac
USAT Williard Holbrook: to AH 3/43

Heywood Class (522’ Passenger/Cargo)
AP-12 Heywood
AP-13 George F. Elliot : Sunk 8/42
AP-14 Fuller
AP-15 William P. Biddle
AP-16 Neville
AP-64 Kenmore: to AH 9/43
USAT Howard McCurdy
USAT Pres Buchanan I: to AH 11/43
USAT Pres Taylor: Sunk2/42
USAT Pres Grant II: Sunk2/44
USAT Pres Fillmore: to AH 10/43

So, do these fit the CHS slots now? I dropped in the art and all the ship trans images show pink now in the combat screens.

They are supposed to drop right in. I'm using them now on a std map game and don't see any difficulties. I used CHS v1.06 and scen 154 to match things up.

AAAAArrrrrrrrgggggggghhhhhhhhh !!!!!

Poop in a jar. Just noticed that the AnShils are 96x96 dpi. I used the same 96x96 dpi as the AnSides. This can be fixed. The AnShils are supposed to be 183x183 dpi. I guess that's what I get for rushing.

Sorry.

AP-42 Tasker Bliss: Sunk 11/42, never in Pac
AP-43 Hugh Scott: Sunk 11/42, never in Pac

Actually both the above ships spent the first half of 1942 in the Pacific before returning to the Atlantic and eventually being lost during Operation Torch.

Yeah, they were there for a few months. Those are my notes as to what ships to include in my database and, if not included, why not. It was easier to list em as not in Pac as give the actual dates; i.e., Tasker was Army chartered as a USAT trooper and used for five months (four trips) before Naval acquisition in 8/42; she had to go to BNSY. I didn't think it worthwhile to keep her, or the Scott, in the mix as it would require them to be permanently tied up at the wharves in Panama City early in the game.

BTW, I'm getting the fixed AnShil files to Spook and Rogue. Sorry about the screw-up. Guess I learn something new every day.

I downloaded the new graghics and have the same problem as Ron. (pink borders on combat screens). Has anyone figured this out? The new pics look great and I would love to use them. I'm using CHS ver 1.06 and WITP ver 1.6.

Thanx
