Sven vs. Zapador

Post by sven6345789 »

Hi,
will try to post an AAR bout my newly started game against zapador. Will not post combat reports, just take up to much room
time: 09/12/41
PI: After air attacks on Manila (port) and Clark (airfield), the submarine fleet is all but gone. There is lots of naval activity around, including carriers, so it is doubtful i will get any forces out. Did have some success using the RN DDs from Hongkong at Lingayen; they got some transports; landings have occurred at Lingayen (captured), Legaspi (captured) and Cagayan (still holding out); he has also captured some outer areas with parachute attacks
Malaya: used Force Z to counterattack with some success; POW is still undamaged; no landings have occurred up to now apart from Singora. my torpedo squadrons are still intact.
DEI: looks bad indeed; japanese TFs all over the place; Amboina, Tarakan, Miri have fallen; The dutch fleet got wiped out by his BBs; only the PT boats remain; Palembang will fall soon, as will Kendari. He seems to be concentrating on Borneo; one good news, the two Cls at Palembang did a succesful bttle, sinking the Kashii (not much, but something to write the folks home about)
New Guinea: landings at Rabaul (holding) and Gili-Gili (has fallen)
Pacific: lost two BBs at pearl with the attack having gone into round two. did damge a large amount of planes with AA fire. Wake is still holding out.

overall: not a bad start with 3 japanes combat ships sunk by turn 3 ( 1 Cl, 2 DDs); my losses are terrible though with the dutch fleet gone. several japanese subs sunk, in turn, the sub force stationed in manila is reduced to about 6-10 subs.
Bougainville, November 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9. It rained today.

Philippines: not much happening, except for a succesful sub attack. one japanese AP sunk
DEI: most action in this area; another naval battle at Palembang saw one japanese DD sunk while my two CLs got damaged too. gues they will be gone soon. Kendari, Miri and Palembang fell, with a lot of transport taskforces on the way.
Malaya: no attacks up to now. Bombardment Taskforces are gone; only landing is taking place in singora; british fleet is still mostly intact after their initial reaction move
CPacific: KB left Pearl today; is on its way to Johnston now; Wake fell, cost him a PC though, with a few more ships damaged. his submarines get harassed by my planes badly; if they stay around pearl a little longer, he will have all of them damaged
SPacific: Guadalcanal has fallen; Rabaul is only a short distance fron doing just the same.
