Stuff for the first patch as of now

Post by Tankerace »

While not a final list, just thought I'd share it.

I was open about the game during its design, I intend to be just as open post release. I hope this also shows that I do listen to player requests and concerns.

As to when the first patch is available, I honestly don't know. Thankfully, all the stuff fixed is minor, and the majority of the patch is additions.

So far:

1. Fixed Scenario AI in Scenario 6. (was not as aggressive as in the other scenarios).
2. Removed Armor from various allied aircraft.
3. Added in following hypothetical ship classes (and ships in Scenarios 6 and 8) BB1917, BB1923, Tillman IV-2, CC1916 (original 14" 7 stack Lexington), No. 13.
4. Added in 1923-26 refit to Renown class.
5. Added in AA refits to Queen Elizabeth, Royal Sovereign, and Tiger classes.
6. Added in several French ship borne Naval Guns.
7. Adjusted accuracy of all British ship borne Naval guns.
8. Adjusted values of Float version of Sopwith Pup to match land version.
9. Reduced Sopwith Pup’s mvr rating to 30.
10. Reduced amount of float Sopwith Pup’s in pool to 15.
11. Increased Durability of 1MF4 and 1MF5 Fighters.
12. Made Gloster Gamecock I available in 1927 instead of 1928.
13. Increased Sopwith Pups durability slightly.

When will the Renown now enter the game in both the 1922 and 1926 campaigns?

Haven't decided yet. I'm thinking I'll move it up in the early scenarios, and leave it as is in the alter ones.

If the refit was done by 1926 then it should be ready anytime during the 1926 scenario.
Instead it is ~1150 turns or whatever until it arrives.
Are you going to move the entry port to Columbo?

Well, yes it *could* be ready. But if I start moving ships up, then people will want me to move the entire fleet up, and if I do that Japan doesn't have a chance in hell of winning, and then no one will want to play as Japan. As it is now, Repulse arrives with the main contingent of the battlefleet. If it arrives early it will arrive in Karachi/Colombo, if it arrives with the fleet it will arrive at San Diego.

Don't know how in depth you went with IJA OB ... I'm working on IJA OB for WITP right now and can't help but stumble across stuff for the 20s which don't mean much in the 40s .. but just saying I have some stuff if you need some ... in particular demobilization of 4 divisions(in 1925 the divs were 13, 15, 17, 18) and major conversion from direct fire artillery doctrine to indirect fire doctrine(1922) also demobilization of 139 non-divisional artillery companies ( the direct fire kind ) also 1922 ... there is more .. but if you have Kogun, for example then you may already have most of what I have ...

I went in depth where I had info, and for the rest I used "poetic liscense", i.e. the creation of several SNLFs besides the Shanghai SNLF.

The actual WPO scenarios are finalized. Most of what I am adding are fixes, tweaks, and new stuff for the creation of new scenarios either by me or modders.

Thanks for the heads up, if I find glaring omissions I'll correct them, but I think that WPO has a good feel for what war in the '20s would have been.

5. Added in AA refits to Queen Elizabeth, Royal Sovereign, and Tiger classes.
6. Added in full suite of French Shipborne weapons

ust to clarify, WPO is not broken. The majority of this list are tweaks or additions. The only actual bug is Naval aircraft armor, which so far hasn't seemed ot have fouled up anything really. I would recommend holding off on Super Dreadnoughs in AI mode, both for the AI fix and for the new ship classes.

Suggestion: adding in some of the early 1920s devices such as the Japanese 8inch/50 cal gun, for the use of modders.

Pretty please? :)

LOL, I have about 3 Ship capable device slots left... I think I'll leave them open, for different mods.

Any chance of including HMS Eagle & HMS Hermes? Oh and whilst I'm on my knees the N3s - the Royal Navy would rather bankrupt the Country than lose out. Just look at the current situation with CVF - it's vital capability is to be larger than the Charles de Gaulle and hang the cost.

I'm sure an idiot or two would play the Japanese. Look at how many of us idiots play the Japanese in WitP...[:D]

I haven't played WitP heavily since November of last year. I stopped a campaign I was in waiting on a patch, got to working full tilt in WPO, and only just now have started up a WitP game again.
