Dutch Trainers (Error????)

Post by el cid again »

Doing crew size verification I note three planes in Dutch East Indies service with no corresponding equal for other nations: All are really trainers:

F.K. 51- this type is scheduled to upgrade to F-5 Lighting
CW-22 - same same - F-5 Lighting!
Lockheed 212 (which is almost the Ki-34 in Japanese service, if used as a transport - but these are fitted as crew trainers and lack the space for efficient transport use)

Now these seem to be odd inclusions - and all three came over from stock - so it is not any CHS person's fault.

I think they got included mainly because of the fact they are Dutch and the DEI is right in the middle of it. Canada was not even in the game originally (thanks again Joel!). If Canada was in the midst of the war due to geography, some AARs have had the Japanese player invading the west coast, well, I bet more research would have been done on Canada and the motley collection of Canadian aircraft may have made it into the database. Blackburn Sharks, Ansons and F3F's come to mind.

Personally I'm all for chucking the Fk 51 and using the slot for another SBD variant or something.

Really? Their short range limits even their use as search aircraft.[:D]

Who cares what their range is when my A6M2s have a range of 11? The Zeros will find them.[:'(]

I would think that they got included because of the same argument of Japanese trainers are lacking *GG*

As I recall then the argument with the free pilots are that they are getting trained somewhere not on the map... look it up BIG arguments!

I can easily accept that the Dutch gets their pilots trained on the map ie the trainers and therefore gets their free pilots pool reduced. The same could easily be the case for the Chineese pilots.
