The newer BBs (Nagato, in WPO Tosa) tend to have slightly thinner (though better) armor than older ships.

Hi Tanker, Is this reflected in the game mechanics? For instance in WPO where the Tosa would have thinner but better quality armor than the Settsu will the Tosa have better protection? On the same note, if I added Settsu with 305mm belt armor to WitP would that upset the balance in relation to the newer but "thinner" armored BBs. Or would it be a good idea to "downgrade" Settsu's belt armor in WitP to reflect the qualitative differences?

I don't think it is modeled. You could adjust it, but since Fuso and Ise both have 12 inch belts in WitP, and Settsu is only a few years older, I don't see why she should be downgraded.

Part of the reasoning for thinning of armor is speed. Nagato has lighter armor, but is much faster. Tosa would have had lighter armor, but also have been faster. So really, I would just go with the standard 12 inch belt, but for uniformity instead of 305mm you might want to use 300mm.

Hi Big B, I have one more request and that should tide me over for a few days. I'd like to introduce Tosa and Amagi to the Allies in my mod if you'd be willing to give them a shot. Below are the two compared to the Settsu which you've already done. I believe they are all to the same scale. If you would be kind enough to include all 7 versions again that would be much appreciated! I actually ended up picking a different image from the three you showed me in this thread with Settsu, although it was difficult to do since all the backgrounds looked so nice.

Thankyou! [:)]

Hi Captskillet, well I was going to do that when I finished the Dutch just so I would be releasing something new with it.
I will have it done soon....No wait, ....I won't do it until Matrix makes patch 1.795 official! There! That should get some heat on them to get it out of beta! (lol[:D])

Seriously though, I'll have it all done soon.

I have a request for Subchaser if he is still around and about the forum. After falling in love with Subchaser's Allied plane sides which Oliver Heindorf was so kind to supply me with, I would love to have a few more planes done or if anyone has some of Subchasers outstanding designs for these planes already which they would be willing to send me...

Basically I have an Allied plane sides .bmp image which still has a few stock images on it. I'd like to get some of these stock graphics replaced with more of Subchaser's fine work. Attached is part of the file I have. Outlined in a pinkish color are the planes I'd like to get Subchaser's sides for.

Thankyou for any help anyone may be willing and able to give. [:)]

Gary

PS. Also I'm missing a Subchaser version of the B-25C.

Also, would someone please send me the file or a link for Subchaser's Japanese plane sides? I know there is a file at Rogueusmc's site for a Subchaser graphics mod, however, the file is 25Mb and I still have dailup and since I'm only interested at this point in his plane sides, I'd like to see if I can just get his J_PlaneSide.bmp file.

Thankyou! [:)]

Hello Cobra, Don't suppose you fancy doing the rest of the ships (allied etc) for Admiral FORASHITAS what if Fleet.
I would love to add some to a scenario
There are two types of ships in the world

Cobra, new ship side job for you. Could you do both of these, so I can have both before and after refit pics? Thanks! (BTW, they're meant to be around 730 feet long, i.e. a little shorter than Repulse)

Question for all you artists out there, where can I find a freeware/shareware (if they are outthere) image editing program that you can take exixting images and apply 3-D like effects, etc.?
