I'm writing a new editor for this game and my question is this
on the Pilots page how does the game determine whether an entry
has a pilot in it or not, for example scroll down to an empty field,
name is empty all other fields are zero. The manual states that if delay
equal zero that pilot will be available at scenario start, problem is
the pilot does not have a name, so what I need to know is what fields
does the game look at to determine whether an entry has a pilot in
it or not?

A pilot is not loaded into the game unless it has been assigned to an air group.
Zero group number, pilot not loaded irrelevant of the delay factor.[:)]

In addition, the next patch should not load pilots who are assigned to a group that has a delay of 9999....trying to stop in-game pilot table from filling up.
It is advisable to set group delay to 9999 on the blank ones so that if any pilots are assigned to these groups, they will be freed up when the scenario starts.
