The biplane Vickers Vildebeast was a two seat torpedo bomber first flown in 1928. The three seat Vildebeast III recon version with a 635hp engine served in the UK until April 1940 and in Singapore, Java and Ceylon until March 1942. The Vildebeast IV with a 825hp engine did not serve overseas and was used until 1944 as a target tug. Top speed was 230kph with a ceiling of 5,182m.
