Is there a guide anywhere about what to do about your logistics especially convoys? I dont know exactly what I am supposed to do to keep my ships moving and any help would be appreciated. I know that supplies are generated at certain locations and that we need to transport stuff to supply the fleet but I dont know what to do other than turn on the autoconvoy system and from what I can tell from the message boards that doesnt always work.

Basically, uou need to move two main elements, supplies (food and ammunition) and fuel. You'll want to create convoys from the mainland (either US or Japan) to the bases you want to use as ports. So, for example, you want to create fairly large (20 or so ships each) convoys from Mare Island (or San Diego) to HAwaii, Midway, Wake, and Guam. Use AKs or APs for supply, and Tankers for fuel. Now, if Guam or Wake become occupied, or uninhabitable, then only go to Wake and Midway.

Use smaller (2 or 4 ship) convoys to each of you bases with troops, filled with supplies. This will keep them supplied and stocked.

So, create a convoy, tell it to load fuel (or supplies), and pick a destination. Then, above retirement allowed, you will see "Human Control", click here, and it should change to CS:base destination. Now, this convoy will move to the base when it is finished loading, offload its supplies, return to the home base, load again, and continue to the next base. For Japan I reccommend your send you COnvoys from Osaka or Tokyo, from the US San Diego or Mare Island, and from India use Karachi.

If you put your ships in "auto-convoy" or "continuous supply", check them occassionally.
Ships that sail a lot will gain SYS damage. The ships in the above convoys will eventually gain enough SYS to slow them down. It is then time to get them repaired and/or replacement ships assigned to their routes.

While planning my strategy as the Allies, I will choose some viable bases that I will build into depots. For obvious reasons, Hawaii would be a good choice in the central Pacific. Noumea in the SWPac and perhaps Koepang in the Java Sea. I would then "daisy chain" between these. Canton Island,Pago Pago, then on to Port Moresby , Darwin. Like the other folks have said, build some large convoys to your major depots and provide area of effect protection with some CLs and DDs. Then form smaller convoys to shuttle supplies and fuel between these depots to keep the blood flowing. there are several ways to accomplish this , so through trial and error you can form your own "correct way". This works for me also...
I tend to setup the auto convoy system to a select few bases and
then CS:base destinations from those...
