Creating Leaders

Post by FDRLincoln »

I've tried to add a few World War One-era admirals to the leader list, basically as an experiment. I got Beatty in and he is assignable, but I haven't been able to get Doveton Sturdee in. I create him but he doesn't show up on the admiral list in the game itself.

Does any one have any tricks of the trade for creating leaders?

That would be easier to answer if you could provide a screenshot of the editor with his data in it.

There might, repeat might, be a conflict caused by setting his rank to RADM - USN and his nationality to British.

All allied naval officers are listed as "USN" for Rank....it's the only option no matter the nationality.

So it would seem... Didn't know that...

I assume you set similar parameters for Beatty (Rank, Nationality, Type, etc.)?

He should be in there. Are you sure you scrolled through the entire list of available officers?

yes, parameters were the same for Beatty.

Yes, I scrolled through the whole list. I triple checked it. But I have tinkered with his ratings a little since i checked last so i need to recheck in case it jarred something loose.

It could be the leader slot you overwrote was being used, and consequently he is aboard a ship.

Ah, now that is possible. I overrote a lt. commander of something and perhaps he was already assigned.

I will turn that back into a lt. command of something and overright a bad admiral or something.

That was the problem. I overrote an admiral and now Sturdee shows up.

Thanks guys.
