No AFL football on PC

Post by frunky »

I read this over at pcfootball.net

EA will not be releasing AFL Football on PC and I haven't bought a console since I bought my first computer in 1994 and I ain't going back unless they stop making games entirely for the PC. One game ain't gonna make me go back it could even possibly have less features than the Regular Madden Game.

EA has announced NFL Head Coach ... by EA Tiburon

[X(]

It sounds like a mess created to cash in on the EA SPORTS exclusive NFL license.

What do you mean by "restictions"? It's will probably be a very good single player game.

Restrictions like once you start your league you can't rename teams on the fly without starting all over, you can't create players and put them in your league without starting all over you know typical stuff you see on the regular madden game itself.

Speaking to that point, there are free madden editors you can get that you can use to edit teams/rosters.

Bah! I don't know why you guys are so excited about the AFL game by EA and this new one. Just read this article

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/sports/eas ... 40664.html

where you can perfom late hits on players in the game. Sounds like they slightly want to make there AFL game more like a "Blitz" type game. Thats not real football to me.

Personally, I hope David doesn't go this route too as I'm more interested in real Canadian and American style rules of game then the Arena game.

From what I've heard (and we've had a guy or two who have played the game post on ArenaFan), the "late hits" isn't really "Blitz" like, it's more of just not totally deactivating your control of the player after the play is over. Yes, you can do late hits, but, you'll likely be penalized as well depending on how late it is.

But, it's definately an arcade/motion game, as opposed to MF, which is self-admitedly more geared towards strategy vs. flash (which is why Matrix taking over marketing was not a bad idea)

I see it's got franchise mode. To be really authentic AFL, that will require about half the teams either relocating or folding each off-season [:D]
