What is a good production rate for bettys I want this to be the staple of my LBA I also want to keep the nells in production. do you think I should upgrade the Kate and Val I feel they had a better combat record than the Jill and Judy.

I turn off the Nell production on turn 1. In Jan 42, it will auto convert to the Betty. Then I turn it back on for the Betty. That saves a lot of time and supply. With the Betty and Nell units at 133% initial strength as well as the relatively large number of replacement planes, production is not a big concern at the beginning of the war. I don't produce any more Nells. They are very similar to the Betty so I use up the surplus and convert the daitai to Bettys as the number of planes drop. I think my Betty production is set at 40 or so. It can always be increased if needed.

I plan on upgrading my Vals and Kates to Judys and Jills (and then Grace). The new planes are worth the upgrade. Just make sure you don't have too large a number of planes in your pool. If it gets too large, stop production for awhile. I think it's hard to compare the planes due to the fact that the latter planes were at a disadvantage because of the Allied air superiority.

I agree with that; however, I like to run my production a little higher at nearly 80 a month. If I get WAY ahead, I just pause production.

Definately upgrade to Jill/Judy! They are far better planes.

One thing: the only person that can answer your question is you yourself. Everything depends on your style of play. I personaly don't see a need for 80 Bettys per month. But that's just me. The best way to play as Japan is to keep the production at 100% of what you need - no more, no less. Every expansion costs supply which you desperatly need. Every expansion makes more targets for Allied strategic bombing. Every expansion produces extra planes that again burn more supply. So, keep it as low as you possibly can.
