By the way does ne sleep all day? we were sending turns this morning until about 9 am and I expect to hear from him again around 7pm tonight if history is any guide.

Subs are of very little use stopping an invasion.

After a quick few days of fixing up, CV Hornet has been dispatched from Pearl Harbor to strike at the transports at Baker. I hope to get in a few licks before he can get a carrier on the scene.

Hi, Sorry I've been really tired the last few days.
I never set CAP over CV TF higher then 60. Normal for me is 50-50 (CAP-Escort) quite often 1 or more groups are flying LRCAP over a TF in another hex and 1 or 2 groups are stood down (recovering from flying LRCAP)

That afternoon 14 Dauntlesses went after BB Hyuga and BB Yamashiro at Baker. They missed.[/font]

In my arrogance, I taunted Mogami when I sent the turn back
The question is now how many turns can Hornet stay there before you come to pummel her?

I had a BB TF and a CA TF headed for Baker from Canton, so I moved the Hornet TF in position to cover them for their bombardment runs. I didn’t want to get hit by another surface TF of his.

My heart sank when I got his reply:

Light load for SBDs due to extended range attack. Hornet did not close the range. Her TF was set to Patrol & Follow TF. I would soon pay for that…

IJN Counterstrike 2:

Hornet is sunk, as is Indianapolis.

Hopefully Hiryu goes back to drydock for a month or 2.

Thought I was being smart by getting out of the way. Apparently, not far enough out of the way.

Whale is worked over all day and all night, suffering 3 hits. She is not heard from again...

Grunion gets run over by an ASW TF, then misses AK Bushu Maru with a full spread.

Meanwhile, Herring battle surfaces on AK Bushu Maru scores a shell hit, but takes 3 mmg bullets back.

Bushu Maru leads a charmed life.

It seems I've found the convoy route to the Marshall/Gilbert Islands.

Baker Island again? You've gone to that well pretty often. 4 CA's shouldn't be too bad during a daylight battle, but I imagine Mogami will want a night engagement.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?
