Battalion Landing Team 15 DAR

Post by KG Erwin »

This is using the new 8.403. Highlighted is the HQ of LtCol Higginbotham's Battalion Landing Team 15 (Reinforced). My three rifle companies, plus attached raiders/paras, is stretched thin. My only reserves are the three tank platoons--there's no additional infantry. I bought NO transport for my four ATGs and four 81mm mortars -- they are virtually immobile.

Earlier, a Japanese sniper jumped into the position of one of my units. He was followed by a close-assault by a Japanese squad. The sniper ended up getting killed by fire from his own troops.

The view is from the central area, defended by Company B at the edge of the rice paddy. This position created a re-entrant, and those Japanese squads have already been targeted for fire by six batteries of US 105mm arty (24 guns).

August 20, 1942: Turn 10

While several of my squads are down to two or three men after suffering ferocious banzai assaults, the northern and southern raider/para units are cautiously moving forward, with recon elements moving up to protect the extreme flanks.

I intend to swing the raiders/paras around, and "box in" the advancing enemy. At that point, I'll use saturation bombardment on the trapped Japanese. They have no chance of breaking through my line.

(Note: using the new batch pricing scheme featured in the updated OOB Editor, I was able to buy this core force for less than 2500 purchase points. However, I have fewer support points, and will have fewer upgrade points to work with.)
