I lost my seriel number

Post by Zooey72 »

I just got a new comp, and wanted to download the game to it. I didn't keep the box or anything other than the rulebook and disc after I downloaded the game initialy. Is there anywhere else I can find the seriel number in the rulebook, on the disk, or even in the disk?

Please don't tell me I have to buy another game just because of the seriel number. [&o]

If there is anyway I can prove that I did buy this game legaly, I would be more than happy to do it.

It should be on the cover that the CD is in. You can also find the number in the registry of your old computer (if you still have access to it).

I have looked everywhere for the sleeve that the game came in, but I can not find it. I looked on my C drive, thinking perhaps when I first put it in that it got saved somewhere. I never registered the game, and I bought it on Amazon.

I am getting very frustrated at this entire thing. I can not imagine why Matrix would put something so important on a paper sleeve instead of the rulebook that everyone would keep.

If you are unable/unwilling to help me resolve this problem than you will lose a customer, GGWAW will be the last game I buy from your company.

I am on my old computer right now, please tell me how to get to the registry. If you mean register on the options of the game, than it takes me to your website and as I said, I did not buy the game directly from you nor did I register it.

Press START in the left right hand corner of your screen (thats whats its called in my Danish WinXP atleast).
Select RUN
Type in REGEDIT
A program now opens that lets you view and edit the registry.

Look in
.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
..SOFTWARE
...MATRIX GAMES
....Gary Griegsby's World at War
and find the value under the key
authorized.

THANK YOU!

I apolagize for being short with you, I was just very frustrated at the whole thing.

I am switching my new comp back now, I have no reason to believe that this won't work.

THANKS AGAIN!

This is *not* unique to this game. Almost every CD I get with a key puts it on with the CD.

This is a standard industry practice, so let's not blame Matrix on this.

Just to clear this up, the number is/was printed on a big yellow sticker on the CD sleeve. The sticker also says to not throw the number / sleeve away. Adding to this printing serial numbers on CD sleeves is pretty common. Customers also should have a little bit of personal responsibility.
