RE: Irrelevant (Tony S) vs Impertinent (Ron S): Farting around...
I must say again that I'm liking the ASW routines as they pertain to surface ASW. Much more fun to watch by a long shot. I find the multiple attacks by the limited percentage of escorts more realistic than the old gang bang. Sub survivability is up (some fear too much) but I think the crew rating improvements over time will remedy the initial poor showing of the escorts and the subs will start paying the price for their insolence.

As in the above post, I really like what was done with the surface ASW. This turn was a hoot.

Well, the pace of operations has obviously been reigned in with my hack job. Raising the load costs and lowering AK capacities was a bit too much![:D] Tony has had some interesting experiences this past 8 turns.

Well, I wanted to find a limit and have regarding fiddling with devices too much.[:D] Next run is going to be a test of El Cids supply sink idea with his aircraft and ship ratings I think.Course, they can all load in one turn with all their equipment, even across a beach. Did you like the Dunkirk high speed evac at Cagayan? No amount of fiddling is ever going to be able to fix that….

I attacked and bounced off, and it wasn't going to get any better any time soon, what with no shipping available to bring in any reinforcements. This force was originally headed for Davao, which in other scenarios is a worthwhile target; in CHS it's a 1 port 1 airbase IIRC; makes you wonder why IJN made it such a priority IRL.[8|]

Missed a day. Not much happened anyway except for Tony "testing" what would happen if minelayers tried to mine the Bataan hex.[8D]Boom, boom, boom...

This mod feels very much like wading thru molasses. My progress to date (12/19? 20?) is probably not far off of historical, but I suspect that I shall begin to fall behind here before too long. This is in the right direction for sure, but it went too far.ORIGINAL: rtrapasso

I would hate to be hobbled like this throughout my "expansion" phase, and then find myself on the receiving end of the usual 4E onslaught.

I think it is going to be difficult to keep very many bases adequately supplied in order to field the BS numbers of 4E bombers available in the stock scenario. This being CHS as well, the amount of 4E bombers is considerably less do to modified replacement rates etc. Can't see Darwin being the huge hornet's nest it is instock, that's for sure. Potential slaughterhouse for Allied shipping trying to keep it supplied.

RE: Irrelevant (Tony S) vs Impertinent (Ron S): Farting around...
To anybody who cares...
Whenever you want to fix the Air ASW and air search routines in general will be fine by me. Not two weeks into the game the Allies have lost 4 subs to air ASW and have had at least another dozen damaged. Just lost three subs to this nonsense this last turn.
I've got B-17s on search at 50% search at 15,000 feet and they are clobbering ships every turn.
Apollo has tested this sufficiently and the number of folks mentioning this is high enough to warrant a readjustment of the gitch so to speak.

RE: Irrelevant (Tony S) vs Impertinent (Ron S): Farting around...
Well, even though this was a test we did not get to test much because of yet more buggy/wonky behavior. Tony can't unload airgroups from AKs and his repalcement aircraft are disappearing with pilots like a few builds ago. Looks like this dog is off to the farm.[:@]

B17 barge boppers at 15k feet! YOW!![]()
This just goes to show that the air search issues are not confined to just ASW. These B-17s are getting high up in experience and it is causing some whacked out results. When one can turn a naval search mission into something more effective than strike missions (with no real counter) there is obviously a problem.
Can you post a pick of the ships damaged the last few turns by B-17s on naval search? The search missions never flew below 15000 feet and were only at 50%. Considering only the survivors from turn 1 were flying (perhaps a dozen B-17s) the damage being done was over the top.
