Probably they are coming to pound Luganville or perhaps hoping to catch some juicy transports with lots of young GI's aboard. The extra range of the Coronados is worth the upgrade. These boys were spotted about 700 miles away from the nearest Allied airbase. Perhaps Chennault's presence amped up their performance.
