Player Height/Weight/Age Limits

Post by FreedomRock »

I just wanted to know what the minimum and maximum height, weight, and age for a player in this game will be. I know in the Madden games it's about 5'6" (?)-7', 160-415, and 18-45. So what's the range in Maximum-Football, is it any more broad than that?

Because this game allows leagues from PeeWee to All Pro, there are no restrictions on height, weight, or age. Although, if you make a player in their 50's, he'll probably not make it through training camp.

I figured that might be the case...and I highly doubt I'll be making a 50-year-old player. It never bodes well for long-term success.

So with this information, I'm a step further in game planning. Thanks for the info.

Wasn't there a 50-year-old kicker in NFL Europe a few years back?

Yes, the kicker was Manfred "Manny" Burgsmueller. He was a former soccer star and member of the national team. He played as kicker for Rhine Fire (Duesseldorf) and was responsible only for the short place kicks.

Wow...I'll do some research on this guy then.

I know George Blanda was 48 and still in the NFL in 1975. The NFL has had some players (mainly kickers) who have still been solid players after going over the hill. The CFL has too (Damon Allen, Lui Passaglia). And on the other side of the spectrum, there are stars in Ireland's football leagues who are only 16-17 years old. Sure, they could never beat an American team (they've tried), but some teenagers over there are better than players in their 20s and 30s. And in Japan, college players are often better than older guys. Is age really as relevant as some people say it is? Good to think about that sometimes.
