IJN Carrier airgroup transfers.

Post by ChezDaJez »

I have Akagi disbanded at Balikpapen with 71/78/12 damage levels. There is an AR arriving in two days but I'm afarid that I will lose her still.

I want to move her airwing (what's left of it) to shore but when I have done that in the past the airwing has changed from "Independent" to whatever the controlling HQ is for the base I fly them to. In this case, they would change to Southern Area.

My question is: Does this mean that they will only be able to draw replacement aircraft from Southern Area HQ or will they still be able to draw replacements from the Home Islands/4th Fleet/ Southeast Fleet? (Where ever the ship may be at the time, assuming it doesn't sink). In other words, is Akagi doomed to remain in the SRA in order to draw replacements?

I know they will not draw replacements and cannot be upgraded if the ship sinks. That makes them useful only for disbanding into other carrier airwings.

Merry Christmas all.

My question is, why don't they stay independant? They remain carrier trained but shift their HQ. Can one change them back to independant?

Nope, not an option.

It is a bug . If you do a search on forum you will find several topics about that . You can't do anything to stop them except to keep tham on your CV's . Even than they change HQ when you dock somewhere but this is not very often .

It isn't really something that you have to worry about, except that you don't ever want to off-load them in Shanghai; they will change to China Command and you won't be able to transfer them back on.....
